Come enjoy the 10 days of country fair fun. The fair opens today and runs through Sept. 19th. Lots of rides, games and food. A weeklong local music stage opens 4:30 daily and is free with the fair admission.
Enjoy plenty of mountain music including a competition for best old-time and bluegrass bands. Winners of those contest get to open for newgrass star John Cowan on the fair's closing day Sept. 19th.
The center piece is a big chairlift which covers the fairgrounds with spectuacular vews.
